A Colorado native, Dr. Denise Crumbaker earned both her BS in Equine Science and DVM degree from Colorado State University. Her interest in acupuncture developed during veterinary school while working with a local equine practitioner who was acupuncture certified, leading her to complete the Medical Acupuncture for Veterinarians course in 2009.
Following graduation, she worked as a small animal emergency veterinarian at several Northern Colorado clinics, incorporating acupuncture treatment when possible. In 2015, she expanded her expertise by becoming certified in canine rehabilitation through CRI, subsequently focusing on small animal rehabilitation and acupuncture at a local rehab/ER clinic.
Dr. Crumbaker began teaching at Front Range Community College in the veterinary technology department in 2018 and also made the switch to mobile pain management practice in 2019. Since 2020 she has taught at both the Medical Acupuncture for Veterinarians clinical intensive and the MOVE Integrative Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine Internship; she enjoys helping students with the hands-on portion of their curriculum.
Outside of her professional work, she relishes spending time with her horses, running, reading, and learning to crochet. She and her family are avid travelers who have explored the United States extensively in their RV.
