Understand what cannabis refers to (i.e., marijuana and hemp) and be able to discuss its history, regulatory shifts, and public perceptions.

Active Constituents in Cannabis
Know the names of pharmacologically active chemical constituents of cannabis, including cannabinoids, terpenes, terpenoids, etc., and what they contribute to its medical and recreational effects.

The Pros and Cons of THC
What are the benefits and risks of THC? What does an overdose look like? Is there any medical benefit to THC in small quantities?


Cannabidiol (CBD)
Learn how to respond to questions from clients regarding CBD oil supplements for dogs and cats.  Identify what we know so far from university research studies with in CBD in dogs with naturally occurring diseases and Phase I research trials.  Understand the evidence-based indications from human research and their transitional implications, etc.

Education, Caution, and Scrutiny
Recognize why the issues related to cannabis serve as examples of why all herbal approaches in veterinary medicine need more research and critical analysis.

Cannabis and the Regulatory Environment for Veterinarians
Understand what, as it relates to cannabis prescribing and consultation, is legal, what’s ill-advised, and the important discussion points to cover with clients.

Consider best ways forward for cannabis safety based on group discussion.

DOES IT QUALIFY FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS?

CuraCore’s Cannabis in Veterinary Medicine is fully RACE approved for 7 CE hours.

Please contact your state’s licensing agency or comparable regulatory board (if you practice outside of the United States) to determine if the credits will be accepted as CE credits.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Price for the program $250 CAD (plus tax) (Roughly equivalent to $199 USD plus tax, depending on exchange rate)
