COURSE OVERVIEW

Medical Acupuncture for Veterinarians Certification Program, RACE/NYSED approved

Narda G. Robinson, DO, DVM, MS, FAAMA founded the field of veterinary medical acupuncture in 1998.  She based her work, and her course, Medical Acupuncture for Veterinarians (MAV), on information derived from lifelong study of the principles and practice of human and veterinary acupuncture, osteopathic medicine, and the art and science of neuromodulation.

Her impact has spread worldwide, influencing both veterinary and human understanding of the science of acupuncture through works such as her landmark extensively researched 1215 page highly visual medical atlas, Interactive Medical Acupuncture Anatomy, published in 2016.

Medical Acupuncture for Veterinarians is a product of Dr. Robinson’s lifetime commitment to building and sharing her knowledge in the most dynamic and professional manner.

Throughout this program, you will learn ways to provide your patients safe and effective treatments, whether you practice in a general, pain medicine and rehabilitation, specialty, or home-care setting.

We educate you on the scientific support of medical acupuncture and related techniques can make you a more effective practitioner. Implementing scientific medical acupuncture and related techniques provide new avenues through which to address difficult and frustrating problems commonly seen in veterinary practice.

The MAV curriculum provides you with the skills needed to thoroughly examine animals and offer relief from:

  • Post-surgical pain and ileus
  • Debilitating arthritis
  • Chronic back and neck pain
  • Intervertebral disk disease
  • Immune dysfunction
  • Muscle tension
  • And much more!

This is only a sampling of the illnesses and symptoms you’ll learn how to treat using medical acupuncture as a CuraCore certified veterinarian.

We encourage students enrolling in MAV to register as soon as possible for the next Clinical Intensive.  You must complete the 50+ hours of online video instruction, assessments for each module, and mastery of the canine or equine “big points” innervations and locations prior to joining us onsite.

We offer the onsite Clinical Intensives several times a year.  These serve as the clinical expertise-building portions of the program after you have completed the online instruction.  We hold our Clinical Intensives in beautiful Colorado.

Clinical Intensives focus on small or large animals.

To become certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture (cVMA) you must successfully complete the following:
