Beyond the Laboratory, Into the Clinic: What Dogs with Disk Disease Have Taught Us About Photobiomodulation for Spinal Cord Injury
Rudolf Virchow stated over a century ago, ‘‘Between animal and human medicine there is no dividing line— nor should there be. The object is different but the experience obtained constitutes the basis of all medicine.’
Photomedicine, Not Opioids, for Chronic Pain
Modern medicine, like millions of people across the planet, herself appears to have an addiction to narcotics, or more specifically, to the prescribing of these opioid based medications. Dispensing highly addictive medications in lieu of referring for physical medicine and photomedicine has contributed to a ‘‘serious global problem that affects the health, social, and economic welfare of all societies.’’

Photomedicine for Veterinarians
As a veterinary professional in either conventional or integrative medicine, photomedicine is an excellent complement to your medical practice because of its high level of safety and positive results. If you’re ready to provide healing options for your patients that don’t require injections or pharmaceuticals, it may be time to consider a CuraCore laser therapy course.

The first section of PRIMA™ Photomedicine covers the physiologic basis of photobiomodulation, i.e., the manner in which the medical application of light, whether through laser or light emitting diodes (LEDs), influences living tissue. Topics include photobiomodulation for tissue repair, analgesia, circulatory restoration, neuroprotection and neural regeneration, reduction of inflammation, and immune modulation. Free of financial conflicts of interest, Dr. Robinson critically evaluates the pros and cons of various laser and LED units.
The second section of PRIMA™ Photomedicine calls upon learners to apply their knowledge from section I for the safe and effective treatment of pain, inflammation, nerve regeneration, and more. We set the stage by establishing the scientific framework for the PRIMA™ Photomedicine Method which integrates seamlessly with Dr. Robinson’s Medical Acupuncture and Integrative Neuromodulation® method. In so doing, graduates of this program and, ultimately, PRIMA™ certified practitioners, will enjoy the flexibility of utilizing a spectrum of integrative medicine methods to tackle challenging disorders such as brain and spinal cord disease or injury, peripheral and cranial nerve problems, musculoskeletal injury, pain (neuropathic, inflammatory, and visceral), internal medicine problems, and the adverse consequences of radiation therapy.

Veterinarians face many questions when it comes to cannabis. How does it work? Is it safe? What are the safeguards to regulate veterinary products? Which regulations impact veterinarians’ ability to prescribe cannabis? How does cannabidiol (CBD) differ from delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol in terms of clinical effects and toxicity? Where can I find reliable information online?
This course aims to educate veterinarians, veterinary nurses, and technicians about multiple aspects of cannabis treatment — recognizing its historical lineage, safety concerns, and proven ability to regulate endogenous analgesic and homeostatic processes.
The class is open to veterinary healthcare professionals as well as those from other professions that have a desire to learn more about the pharmacology and safety issues concerning cannabis. As such, prospective enrollees should read the following prerequisites carefully in order to ensure that they have a strong enough scientifically based education in order to grasp fundamental pharmacologic and clinical concepts.
Completion of this course does not grant the authority to prescribe any type of cannabis product, and participants should explore and understand local, regional, and national restrictions concerning cannabis that would apply to them and their practice, if applicable. Completion of this program does not grant any licensure or certification to practice medicine.
