PRIMA™ Move – Integrative Rehabilitation: Canine Cranial Cruciate Ligament Disease (CrCLD)
Course Eligibility: Graduates of the Medical Acupuncture for Veterinarians program. Graduates of other veterinary acupuncture courses will be considered (certification/hours must be provided and approved).
No experience in canine rehabilitation required.
- Perform focused, patient-centered rehabilitation based on accurate diagnoses and individuals’ capacity.
- Provide multimodal analgesia, encourage tissue repair, and facilitate return to function by instituting medical acupuncture, photomedicine, medical massage, and botanical approaches early in the disease process.
- Educate clients and colleagues about the relative pros and cons of surgical v. non-surgical approaches.
- Identify the proper application and implementation of rehabilitation modalities such as ultrasound, neuromuscular electrical stimulation, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, regenerative medicine, and more.
This hybrid, online and onsite program covers integrative rehabilitation for patients with cranial cruciate ligament disease, whether they are pre-surgical, post-surgical, or perioperative. Our goal is to introduce practicing veterinary acupuncturists to readily accessible rehabilitation approaches in order to improve clinical outcomes for patients with CrCLD.

Continuing Education Hours: 40 CE hours. RACE approval pending.
As part of the PRIMA™ (Pain, Rehabilitation, Integrative Medicine Advantage™) program, this course qualifies toward the number of hours required for PRIMA™ certification. This program is 40 hours. 16 hours online and 24 hours on-site.
